Isn't my little burrito baby just too cute? I tried laying Hunter down in his crib to take a nap but he just kept throwing his legs and feet around and kept waking himself up so I broke out the swaddle blanket and put him in it. All that did was wake him up and turn him into a burrito, and a very cute burrito I might add.

I have an addiction

My addiction is The Twilight Saga. I read the first book in less than 3 days. I am about to start the next book, New Moon. I mean it not my fault I have so much free time at work.

Hunter will not roll over. He hates being flat on his back. Everytime I lay him down he starts crying and not just the normal baby cry but the not breathing turning purple cry. He is fine laying on his back on his changing pad but not on the floor.

Hunter will be 3 months on Monday, June 8th. He has got to be over 15 pounds. He is really starting to get heavy.
Well, the Orthopedic Dr appointment went well. She said there is nothing wrong with his legs that he shouldn't grow out of.

My sweet baby boy is over 2 months old. 2 months and 1 week to be exact.
He started daycare this week and everyone says he is really great there. He doesn't fuss much and he has captured the hearts of all the ladies that work there.
He also had his shots on Tuesday May 12th and he only whined for a second. He also got a referral to see a pediatric orthopedic be cause the Dr said his right leg is curved a little more than normal and his ankle doesn't look right. We are just hoping that it is something he will grow out of but we will see come Tuesday May 19th.

Our baby boy arrived on March 8th at 10:30pm. He weighed in at 7 pounds and 11 ounces and he was 20 inches long. I went to the hospital at 6am that morning and by 8:00am I was having mild contractions. I got an epidural at about 3:00pm and I started pushing at about 9:00pm and after an hour and a half of pushing he finally came out.

I will be going in to the hospital Sunday morning at 6am to start the induction process. So our baby boy will be born, hopefully, on March 8th.

I went to the Doctor on February 25th and she told me that if he had not come by March 5th we would schedule an induction date for the following week. So as of now we will have a baby no later than March 14th. I am hoping for the first week in March but I guess he will come when he is ready.

Oh Wonderful Pregnancy

I went to the hospital on Monday November 17 and the nurse said I was dilated to 1. I called my dr the next day to check with them to see if this was a problem and they said yes and scheduled me an ultrasound appointment. When they did the ultrasound they saw that my cervix was shortened to 2.2cm when it should be at least 3cm so they sent me to a specialist after a week of bed rest and they checked it and it was measuring above 3cm. I am just glad that ordeal is over, for now. At the specialist appointment they did an ultrasound and we got some good pictures of the baby who is now weighing in at 1lb 5oz. Here are the pictures we got.

After much debate, we have settled on a name for our baby boy. James Hunter. Hunter was Derek's idea, but I like it. I am sure it will grow on me.

Also, he is kicking lots, but we still haven't felt him from the outside yet.

My sister-in-law Brandy is working on the baby shower already. It wont be until January but she is already getting started with the planning. She called me last night and asked me to get together a list of names addresses and phone numbers of who I wanted to invite. I think my list was about 5 names long. I told her I may have to pay people to come. Which this baby shower is just for the people on Derek's side of the family and a few friends that I have that are either married or dating his friends. Oh well, a small shower is better than no shower at all.

Well, we had our anatomy scan today which reveled that the baby is a boy and growing right on schedule. There was nothing wrong, that we know of but we will have to get another ultrasound in 4 more weeks because he would not cooperate and the only thing he would show was his boy parts.

The Past Week...

The past week has been very uneventful and spending time with my niece and nephew makes my serious want to rethink this whole baby thing. They can be some of the best children one minute and the next they make you want to run away. I love them to death but they are so lucky that spanking is considered child abuse.
The "BIG" ultrasound is fast approaching on Nov. 3rd and I have not been able to convince everyone that it is not necessary that we find out the gender. I really could careless either way. I would be happy with a boy or girl and the day of delivery we will have that much more of a surprise. But I guess we will go and they will get to find out. Maybe I will just tell them I don't want to know and that they must keep it a secret from me. I thought about making them all think that we will find out and then at the last minute tell the ultrasound tech that I don't want to know. It is my choice anyway. Then everyone will be mad at me. Oh well.
Once we find out what the baby's gender is we will get to do some serious shopping. Babies are really expensive. I guess that just goes with the territory.

From the beginning of this whole Journey

Well basically, Derek and i have been married for almost 7 years (December 29, 2001) and we have been together for 11 years (July 1, 1997). It has been a bumpy ride, well very bumpy but when is it not.

I am a private person and keep lots to myself since most of the time it's nobodies business but, what's the point anymore.

Sometime in February or March we decided we would take the classes to become foster parents. We figured we would never have any children so we decided to get some another way. But we went to the training and the home studies and all we needed was to get the dogs and cats shot records together when some how I turned up pregnant.
I have PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome). Though not often heard of, about 10% of women have it. It is more common than most think and also often misdiagnosed but come July 7th I took a test and for sure it was positive.

So I went to the doctor and requested a blood HCG test (blood pregnancy test) but it came back negative.
So I was a little confused because I had continued to take home pregnancy test that continued to come back positive.
I went to an urgent care type center in the area and they did a quantitative and a qualitative blood HCG test as well as a urine pregnancy test.

You can see the results of the urine test but, then again the blood tests (both of them) came back negative. I asked for the exact amount of HCG that was in the blood, which is what one of the tests is used for and it was <2. href="http://s312.photobucket.com/albums/ll340/duffeygal/?action=view&current=5wks.jpg" target="_blank">
What you are looking at is a gestational sac and yolk sac measuring in at 5 weeks.
We had no idea how I was getting these crazy test results.
We scheduled another appointment for two more weeks later and saw something even better

That's right, a baby measuring at 7 weeks and 3 days with a heartbeat. 156BPM.
I was so relieved. I am sure Derek was too. I had already told him that if something happened with this pregnancy I was not going to do all of this again.
Since all of this we have had two more doctor's appointment and all has been going well.
So far I am down 25 pounds, probably due to all the morning sickness, which by the way is a false statement that should be changed to morning, noon, and night sickness.

We are really looking forward to our next appointment, which is on Monday November 3rd at 3:00pm. It will be our anatomy scan and if Derek and his mom and my mom get their way, they will get to see the gender. I don't care about the gender but I told Derek that nobody is finding out what it is unless he is there. I think his mom will make sure he is off. She is obsessed with knowing the gender.
As of now my due date is March 23, 2009 (all dates subject to change).
